About Forge
Forge started because there was nowhere local to show someone the thing you had been working on all month.
What it is
A local community runs an evening for people who build things. Everyone turns up with a laptop and works β on their own projects, on each other's, or on whatever comes up. It happens about once a month, and organisers add extra sessions whenever they feel like it.
Members sign in and keep a profile: who they are, what they're building, where to find them online. When an event is announced they say whether they're coming. They can also announce something they want to show off β that might be a finished project and a proper demo, or it might just be "I've been playing with Sol vs Fable 5". Both are equally valid, and the system treats them the same way.
On top of that, organisers can put invited speakers on the bill and give them top billing. The point of that is atmosphere: it should feel like a small stage, and the people on it should feel like the main event.
Who it's for
Developers, designers, and anyone who makes things β including people who are two weeks into learning. There is no level requirement and no membership fee. If you are curious enough to turn up, you belong in the room.
How it runs
It is organised by a couple of people who also have day jobs, and paid for by whoever hosts us that month. There is no sponsor deck and no ticket price. Coffee and something to eat are always there.

Nobody performs
Half-finished counts. Broken counts. The point is showing the work, not the polish.

Ask the room
If you are stuck, say so out loud. Somebody has almost certainly hit the same wall.

No pitching, no recruiting at people who did not ask, no talking over anyone.
